Lucknow — Under the initiative of the Uttar Pradesh government, an awareness seminar and pledge-taking ceremony was organized at Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow, as part of a drug de-addiction campaign. The event was jointly conducted by NSS Units 1, 2, and 3 along with the Department of Commerce. Students pledged to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, to stay away from substance abuse themselves, and to contribute to nation-building by becoming responsible citizens.
Principal Dr. Major Neerja Masih encouraged the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle and move forward towards a bright future. Dr. Umang Tandon, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, spoke on the importance of healthy habits and a disciplined life.
The programme was organized by NSS coordinators Sneha Singh, Dr. Vandana Jerin, and Dr. Seema Rizvi, with support from the Department of Commerce. The organizers expressed gratitude to Dr. E.S. Charles, Chairman of the college, as well as to the Uttar Pradesh government and the National Service Scheme (NSS) for their guidance and cooperation.
